How To Comment on the Central El Dorado Hills DEIR

Background

On November 20, 2015, the County released a Notice of Availability (NOA) of a draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) which will analyze the potential environmental effects of the proposed Central El Dorado Hills Specific Plan (CEDHSP).

The Draft EIR is available for a 60-day public review and comment period ending at 5:00 p.m. on January 19, 2016We are in the process of asking for a 60, 90 or 120 day extension.

Commenting on the DEIR is not an easy task.  Unfortunately, the job is left up to the community to perform this task.  On December 3, 2015, ten volunteers from the community gathered for a training session to learn how to do this.  We recorded the training session so we could share with others who are interested in commenting on the DEIR.  The two part training videos are quite long, over two hours:

DEIR Comment Training – Part 1 Length 01:11:10
DEIR Comment Training – Part 2 Length 00:57:15

Those two videos were later edited to provide essential content only and the result is a 26 minute video recommended for watching:

DEIR Comment Training – Condensed Length 00:26:31 ***Recommended***

Finally, we have included the following letter to help you understand how to make your comments:
